A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDING PASTOR

Eric and Erica met while serving in missions aboard the MV Caribbean Mercy with Mercy Ships in 1998. Erica is a Zeeland native, and Eric is from Colorado and California.  We have been blessed with three amazing children, and since two of them are married, we now have five amazing children and two grandbabies. I must also mention our large but lovable Bernese mountain dog named Nana (Peter Pan). We love to travel together to historical places and read all the plaques at monuments, buildings, or even in forests and trails. Wherever we are, we love to meet new people, eat the local food, and learn about the culture. 

We had the opportunity to serve in youth ministry and missions before being called to church planting. We loved ministering to students because they expect change to come, so they are always flexible and open to hearing God’s call on their lives and then making the challenging changes to obey. The Foundry Church was something God birthed in our hearts, and we desired to build and be a part of a community that would be biblically faithful, relentless in missions, and focused on seeing people come to personally know the love of Jesus and be transformed into His image. Seeing The Foundry become a reality is a miracle. It has been such a gift to our life and family, and we love being home at this church. 

Our newest chapter has a connection to our missional roots; we have started teaching with the University of the Nations (YWAM) twice a year, and it is a joy. Seeing God raise up the next generation of pastors, missionaries, teachers, evangelists, and marketplace missionaries is a gift, and we love pouring into those young lives!
