The Un-Series: Week 6 Day 6

1 John 1:8-9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We are not worthy of salvation; good thing that isn’t the point. If we could be forgiven by our actions, there was no need for Jesus. God showed us in the Law we couldn’t do this alone.

Romans 3:20:

20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

So instead of having us suffer for our sin, God brought Himself down so that we could find salvation. Manasseh spent much of his life living by his direction, but it was only when he surrendered to the will of God that he found transformation and healing. Praise the Lord that we are not left to our own devices. When we seek God, we are left in His loving, transforming, and forgiving hands.
