Summer At Sea: Week 10 Day 1
Proverbs 3:24 (ESV)
“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.”
A few weeks ago, I woke up in the middle of the night and was unable to fall back asleep. My mind had wandered to all the things I had to do the next day and worry started to creep in about how I was going to finish everything. The longer I laid there, the more anxious I became. Fear and doubt began to create an inner strom in my own mind.
Have you ever had a night like this? A night where your mind had shifted to the unknown, “what-ifs,” or ugly moments of life, and sleep became non-existent?
I love how Proverbs 3:24 shows us how God is watching over us and wants to carry our burdens, even in our sleep! God desires to give us the gift of rest. A rest that is rooted in His peace that can fill us every moment we surrender our thoughts, worries, and lives to Him.
When we bring our concerns before God, He brings peace to the thundering storms of our hearts. Praise God for His rest!
