The Un-Series: Week 5 Day 5

Hebrews 11:31

By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.

I remember taking a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. It’s not heaven, but for a lover of the game, it is as close as I’m going to get. I remember looking at the baseball memorabilia – it was inspiring! Hebrews 11 is known as “The Hall of Faith.” In this “hall” there is listed a number (but not all) of the heavy hitters of the Old Testament – Abraham, Noah, and Moses, for instance – known for their lives of faith. Among all these named men of faith there was also listed one woman of faith, Rahab the prostitute. Still listed alongside her former life, Rahab is given to the early church, and to us today, as an example of shedding the old life to replace it with a new and better life, a life of faith! Thousands of years later, we are still talking about Rahab the prostitute as a role model for the kind of life God blesses!

2 Corinthians 5:17:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Whatever you want people to be saying about your faith in the future, you must start living it today!
