Has there ever been a time when you had everything figured out? Which school to attend, car to buy, job to take, or person to marry? There have been many times I thought I had it all figured out only to get part way through my plan and realize I was lost and needed help!

Have you ever been delivered from something? Well, if you are a Christian, you have! God has delivered you from your sin. We have gone through the sea, the chaos of sin, but God has established His supreme authority, defeating our enemy of sin on the cross by the blood of Jesus Christ. 

Two days ago we talked about God judging both the Egyptians and the false gods of the land; in today’s Scripture we can see how He did this. First, God used a mighty east wind to split the sea in front of the supposed “storm god,” Baal (Exodus 14:21). Just like that, God strips the false deity of his authority over wind.

One of the greatest animated movies of all time, in my humble opinion, is Prince of Egypt. It is a Dreamworks movie from the 1990’s that tells the story of Exodus. I can picture this scene that we read about today specifically because it is one of the most epic pieces of animation ever

One of the most fascinating things in Exodus is God’s complete control of everything. God sent Pharaoh after the Israelites, “hardening his heart” (Exodus 14:8). Why? Well, to the Israelites, the Egyptians, their king, and their false gods were the things they feared most.
