Spoken With Love: Week 1 Day 5

Psalm 51:1-6

1 Have mercy on me, O God,

    according to your unfailing love;

according to your great compassion

    blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash away all my iniquity

    and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,

    and my sin is always before me.

4 Against you, you only, have I sinned

    and done what is evil in your sight;

so you are right in your verdict

    and justified when you judge.

5 Surely I was sinful at birth,

    sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;

    you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

David had to pay the price for his sin. He knew he could no longer hide. So rather than wallowing in self-pity, David sought God’s forgiveness and redemption. The fact of the matter is this, we are all sinners and all have fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23), but we have a choice to make. We can decide to deflect, blame, and hide from our sins, which would only lead to more sin and shame, or we can surrender our sinful nature to the perfect sacrifice of Christ Jesus, living forever in His glory, freedom, and forgiveness!

Is there something in your life that needs repentance?

Ask for forgiveness today! Whatever the sin, Jesus paid for it on the cross, you just need to seek His forgiveness and repent!

JESUS IS LORD!

 We challenge you to read all of Psalm 51.
