Spoken With Love: Week 3 Day 4

Job 38:3 

 Brace yourself like a man;

    I will question you,

    and you shall answer me.

 Job 40:2

 “Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him?

    Let him who accuses God answer him!”

Job had acted as his own lawyer in the great courtroom of God. His friends had been witnesses for the prosecution, ignorantly leveling false accusations against Job. In the midst of Job’s rebuttal, he endeavored to cross-examine God, asking Him for answers important to Job. But instead of answering Job’s questions, God thundered back: “Stand up like a man, and I am going to ask you some questions, and you will respond to Me!” (Job 38:3).

Herein lies a point that is hard to take, especially in our western culture today: God does not owe us an answer, nor does He ever owe us an explanation for anything He does. He IS GOD and we ARE NOT! He is holy, just, perfect, righteous, and all-powerful. God does what He does because He sees the big picture, and we do not. He always has our best interests at heart.

Wherever you are, or whatever you are going through, you can trust God because He is God and He is going to put you first; He always has and always will. Whatever is on your shoulders, give it to Him today!
