The dinner that Jesus and the disciples were participating in was, to the Jews, the most significant feast in their year! It was a reminder of God’s provision of salvation from the Egyptians to whom they were enslaved for 400 years. It also served as a reminder of God’s faithfulness to Israel and His coming faithfulness when He would provide salvation through the coming Savior.
