Think back to the last two days of reading and everything that happened in Ruth chapter one. Naomi had gone through so much loss and heartbreak and Ruth had just lost her husband. 

Naomi was at her wit’s end here. She was down and out, and wasn’t able to see past the hurt and pain that she had experienced.

Ruth chapter one begins with informing us that Naomi and her husband had moved to Moab because of a famine. While there, both of Naomi’s sons married Moabite women.

Even though these verses were written to the churches in the New Testament, these verses remind me of Hezekiah. Hezekiah is a wonderful illustration of the lavish love of God to His children who love and obey Him.

The celebration was so full of joy and unity that the assembly decided to extend the seven-day feast for another seven days. There had never been such a great celebration in Jerusalem since the time of King Solomon.
