King Solomon had more wealth, wisdom, and fame than any other king. Today we learn that he also had a total of 1000 wives and concubines.  These women were from various nations outside of Israel and Solomon’s marital choices were in complete violation of God’s commands.

Over the last week, we have read about King Solomon who had more wealth, wisdom, and fame than any other king before or after him. It's unfathomable to picture his life as we learn about Solomon’s unmatched way of living. 

As you read through the psalm, it points to a king who led with wisdom, discernment, justice, and compassion. The verses tell of the abundance of the land, the king’s wealth, prosperity, and the honor bestowed upon him from the surrounding nations. It paints a picture of a successful and thriving kingship.

David had been a legendary king who held countless military victories, killed a giant with a sling and a stone, established plans for building the temple, along with numerous other valiant acts.  On top of it, David had done all of these things while walking faithfully with the Lord.

I once ratted my brother out for a window he had broken. We had agreed on our line of defense, but under severe maternal cross-examination, I crumbled, and he paid dearly.
